Texas Republican Politicians are quite comfortable with the amount of money they collect from jailing mostly blacks and, hispanics for minor weed offenses and, getting the privatized jail kick back cash they set up long ago as well as, continuing their FAKE CHRISTIAN VALUES LIE (EVERY MINORITY FELON CREATED IS ONE LESS POTENTIAL DEMOCRATIC VOTER OF THE FUTURE)… Texans do not have the right to vote for themselves on the issue (IMAGINE THAT) which leaves it to the corrupt racist Republicans who are smoking as they please at the mansion daily. Surrounding legal states politicians are laughing at our elected fools all the way to the bank as they watch their weekend weed tourists pile in by the thousands to spend millions to enjoy what every state with a brain has now accepted…Texas Law Enforcement doesn't seem to care one way or, the other about weed – They just do the job asked of them by these CLOWNS!

  9. Y'all see recreational and medical marijuana is all medical you shouldn't need a prescription for anyting people say cigarettes tobacco cigarettes fast food and of beer are all medications as well as caffeine and stuff

  17. I am facing felony charges in Guadalupe county for having Marijuana carts on me, they are trying to say I am manufacturing a controlled substance!?! I've had bad back problems since I was 24 and I am now 41 and it isn't getting any better. I dont like taking pharmacy pills, ive got stuff to do. Marijuana is the only thing I like to take for my pains and they are trying to say me, as a grown man can't partake in nature!?! That is absurd. They want to crucify me for something I can do in Vegas or Cali. Texas needs reform

  36. I smell a class action lawsuit! How can they discriminate on the type of issues like that? i have glacouma and a expensive medical marijuana card. and it seems like it's only for the "well off sick" to begin with. it grows for free! why can't we just medicate the sick for free?

It's our old timey law makers and our governor who are the problem with Texas I really hope this year we Texans have a real chance with all the bills filed in multiple areas from legalization to decriminalization more than anything the medical marijuana needs to be the priority all the states surrounding Texas are green but because we have 80 year old law makers they are stuck in the old ways and our governor Gregg Abbot who's track record clearly shows he only does things for his benefit Yes he passed the compassionate use act which only helps a couple hundred Texans at best and even then it is really hard for the children with the certain Illness to get the cannabis they need it's time for Texas to get with the program

  48. As was evident from the video the only pushes being made by Texas in legislation is for medical use only. It is highly, highly unlikely that Texas will legalize recreational use. It shouldn't be that way as Texas is big, and our state isn't exactly known for following the crowd..  Texans are more for legalization than strictly medical use, however that's not what matters. In the struggle for legalization what matters is our appointed representatives which sadly don't really care what we think, but they are mostly sold out to big business. Which legalizing marijuana would endanger those large already “established” big business, and I shouldn't have to mention which.. Oher states that have legalized don't have the same restraints, and sadly those restraints will make Texas one of the last states to legalize and likely only possible by popular public demand. But we know everything is bigger in Texas including big business that would fight against any push for legalization. Honestly it's ridiculous I mean they want to slow the flow of drugs from Mexico, and I think legalization in Texas would certainly do that. Just think about it while many would argue that it would actually increase other more dangerous drug imports such as heroin, or meth. But I disagree I believe it would give recreational users a much safer, and legal alternative to such dangerous drugs. The marijuana industry is growing exponentially post legalization, and at regular intervals we are seeing new options, new strains, and we see that each strain has different qualities. So much so that from one strain to another we can see a wide range of effects while having little change to safety, or precautions, and this is because you cannot overdose on any strain of marijuana. And these freedoms if allowed to proliferate as we see with the marijuana industry, in the states that have legalized already. Will certainly after time not eliminate, but reduce other harmful drug use such as heroin, or meth. We see designer drugs such as bath salts beginning to impose serious health risks to the younger generation, and why? Because these kids are trying drugs, that are quote on quote "legal" to stay away from illegal drugs marijuana being the chief of them in schedule 1. If kids try marijuana which is schedule 1, and in the same category as heroin but find it's not dangerous like law makers claim.. Then they rightfully think well maybe heroin like marijuana isn't as dangerous as lawmakers say either, and think of the two drugs on the same level. But when marijuana is legalized which the majority of older generations who are now seeing should not be in schedule 1 and on the same level as heroin. Then the minority who has been deceived into thinking marijuana is as dangerous as heroin can understand that marijuana is not as dangerous as heroin.. And stop thinking of the two as equal in risk, which is a serious miscalculation that encourages young people to see all schedule 1 drugs as having the same risks as marijuana. So that new generations who are being taught about drugs won't have to deal with the damaging misunderstanding of thinking that trying heroin, is the same risk as trying marijuana. So that younger generations will have the chance to not risk going to jail for something as innocent as marijuana possession, and also won't have to seek dangerous quote on quote "legal" designer drugs like bath salts as an alternative to marijuana. But the amount of any given drug that's smuggled into the United States from Mexico depends upon the demand for that given drug. Heroin, and meth, and other really dangerous drugs would certainly go down in demand after marijuana is offered as a legal alternative.
