Hey Lex good job on your videos. They are very informative and easy to follow. I have a question for you. I have used a mix of soil, sphagnum peat moss, and pearlite. It is grainy feeling and holds good moisture for about 2-3 days. From the time it popped out of the soil – 2 weeks it has first set of 3 digit leaves, the 5 set of digit leaves, and is growing its set of 7 digit leaves. I guess its on node 4 not counting the cotyledons. Sorry for the long paragraph, but I guess my question is this, is that an extreme amount of growth and would you say its because of the mix I came up with. Showed some pictures to a friend and they thought the plant was 4-6 weeks old. Anyways I'm going threw more of your videos because I like the way you are honest. Keep up the good work.

I've been using compost that I make myself, mixed with coco-coir and perlite.
I've had nothing but excellent results.
I use micronutrients and organic nutrients when needed

$5 to $10 or more for a 30L bag of garden soil, where did this saying "dirt cheap" come from?….
couple of years ago, i got a few seeds, to test them, i grabbed some coffee cups, filled them with backyard dirt, and planted the seeds after germinating them using the paper towel method. i did that in october no less, on my windowsill. and i had 80% germination rate and they all grew nice and healthy, i gave them to my friends. kept the one that i thought was going to die. it didn't, fast forward till april next year and i harvest a few grams of weed from that tiny plant that grew from october to april. it survived longer through the next winter.
now i'm trying to grow in the springtime. with proper herbling soil and taking care of it with everything i know. and i'm getting 30% of the seeds turning into seedlings and they never grow the first pair of real leaves. idk wtf is going on right now. been trying 2 months and all failed starts

Industrial hemp Hurd makes a Wonderful compost for cannabis
Best results I’ve seen were with living soil and oyster shell top dressing and water. Came great. Didn’t get any deficiencies finishing either. Organic soil is so problematic though. Competition of the microbes is the problem. Make your own or buy decent medium. Know what’s in it! Buy a microscope and familiarize yourself with what in your soil. Remember in goes on your body.

Additionally, I farmed in the Sandy Loam of the great San Joaquin Valley for years. Unbelievable soils, light, water and air exchange.

I saw one interview by a Kenyan tv crew in Malawi, in which one of the growers stated that the best soil there was a sandy loam. My guess is that because of the high humidity near Lake Malawi, drainage is more important.

Thank you! I've had a two-plant setup and one of my walk-in closets for some time. I found it hard to kill a weed plant. They are indeed very resilient, it grows on the side of roads, and for all our fancy equipment for millions of years is needed nothing but water soil and sunlight. I think the recent uptick on YouTube of people pushing fancy complicated setups in soil mixtures is more about selling products than it is about growing plants. Just my two cents, I like your video, like your channel, one of the more honest ones out there
