Codington County Commissioners addressed the Medical marijuana ordinances being set in place in the County. Zoning board Director Luke Muller told commissioners they are looking at allowing up to 9 dispensaries in the County. Muller spent over 45 minutes discussing the issue with commissioners yesterday, coming up with hours of operation, location of dispensaries and the cost to be set for those seeking a retail license for selling medical marijuana.
Ordinances 75 through 77, deal with everything from the operations of the dispensaries to where they can and cannot locate. Commissioners agreed hours of operation to be from 8AM to 9PM, but store owners will be able to regulate their own times of operation during that time frame. Commissioners also agreed to set the cost of licenses to 5 thousand dollars to be renewed annually and the licenses will not be transferable or sold.
The 1st reading on the ordinances is expected to take place during their next county commission meeting.
