Look, seriously. This is insane that we even have to discuss this. On this planet, among the many thousands (millions?) of plants of benefit to us, not to mention the ecological relationships, two of them are well and widely known to be of immeasurable importance. Those two plants are bamboo and hemp/weed. Any purveyance of history attests to the utilitarianism of these two plants in such an incredible variety of ways; they are food, they are medicine, they are building materials, they are fabrics, they are tools. And you know what else? They are just goddam beautiful plants. And they grow so fast! Mind you, I love trees more than anything. Even more aesthetically than the other two, for sure. Oaks, and beeches, and maples, and mangoes, persimmons, gingko, cedars and pines, and on and on, but when it comes to utility, bamboo and hemp/weed. Hands down.
