I don’t know if she is old enough for this yet, but my brother has severe epilepsy and he has a VNS implant that helps quite a bit. He still takes quite a bit of medication and also some cbd oil. It’s an implant that is triggered by a magnet you can have on your wrist to swipe your chest and that shocks the brain to slow down the seizure. One down side is there is no way to tell if the battery is low and you have to have a surgery to replace the battery. So work closely with your doctors to see when seizures happen more often and have to replace the battery. It’s not super known or popular with doctors, but I would study it for the future. Also my brother has been on his own for a bit in the past and whenever he has a seizure by himself in public, an ambulance picks him up and they and the hospital have never really had a strong enough magnet on hand to help him. So that’s annoying, we hope more hospitals get more educated about epilepsy and the VNS implant.
Aurora I hope feeling better
Charlottes web is the best! My son has a brain aneurysm and with a ton of research I was lucky enough to find the Stanley brothers when he was under a year old. Josh Stanley helped me long before it was "legal" just by educating me. I am so happy to see a parent who is really open to a non prescription addition. Btw- my son has never once experienced a seizure. They are a common thing among the other children with his condition. We actually have never suffered through ANY of the same experiences as the other children and he is 20 now. We are blessed- We have not been very active on the conditions support page either as we just dont share the same experiences. I find myself binge watching your channel these days. Thank you guys for sharing your lives!
I feel so bad I have epilepsy and it’s horrible so I don’t know how she feels
Just like The MILLER FAM they also used the CBD Oil for their adopted son with medical condition like Aurora.I also love their journey story of being an adoptee parents. They have 7kids with 3 biological kids.
It seems like your biological kids and theirs are on the same age.And it seems Aurora the youngest and their youngest adoptee Lincoln was also at the same age and medical condition with seizure and speech teraphy.I wish you could get in touch one of this day for some sharing about this matter.I really admire you guys. You both in my prayers.
Oh no! She turning into a teenager too fast!!! She’s already saying no to her parents!!! 2:05
Wondering now that time has passed… If you’ve continued and if her progression such as speech has been part of the reason.
Lincoln from the Millers Family took CBD oil every night to help him from seizures
There is a new prescription CBD oil. It's called Epidiolex. My husband takes it for his brain cancer/seizures. It was originally approved by FDA for children 2 years ago. It is a prescription if your insurance does not cover it the actual Company has a program called Epidiolex Engage. The CBD oil in prescription is also more dose accurate. Through the program she may get it for free.
I take CBD oil and it’s really useful
Aurora and your family are so happy together I love you guys
I’ve always had Negative side affects while using CBD. For me it made my seizures more likely to happen so I will never use it again on myself.
I take CBD for social anxiety, but…I also have epilepsy. The CBD has helped with both of these illnesses. I have finally found the right mix of medications so I havent had a seizure in almost 2 months.
Keep up with the CBD! It's really amazing stuff!!
I love your channel. Just a friendly note.
Im not sure if you realize that your always interrupting your husband and he doesn’t really ever get to finish his sentences.
I just get rid of my seizures
Try giving two drops on the inner lip on bottom and massage it in at the start of a seizure as well as daily prevention . After a while you will notice that she can calm down enough for attention span and memory . Great job ! I am a parent of a girl (21) and full time caregiver of her . We started using Medical CBD 1000 mg . And it brings her out of the onset of her seizures , and way less recovery time .
Does anyone know what seizure medicine she’s on
My older sister has epilepsy and she's 18 and still has seizures they have her on multiple medications and it's not to long ago that I seen on of her episodes they are scary and my family knows what y'all are going through and I'll be praying for Aurora.
cbd oil takes a while to get into your system so there probably wont be a huge change inher for a while
I hope aurora gets less seizures
Hi I am 12 and I suffer from severe migraines and I take CBD oil for it I am so glad seeing this and hopes she is doing well 😘
I hope she grows out of her epilepsy
I still have it at 12
Hello Chrystal. My nephew has seizures as well. He is on five different seizure medications plus has madazilan and diastat for back up. He has been doing on the Keto diet for several years now which has helped with his seizures a lot. We want to try to not only lower his medication intake but also hopefully take him off at least half his medication. We have heard about the CBD oil but are afraid to use it. Do you recommend us trying it. I greatly appreciate you sharing your story with us.
CBD is great!
how come aurora can't talk
Hi Aaron and Crystal, do you have updates of Aurora's condition since she started on CBD oil for her epilepsy?…. She looks improving in most of your latest videos….
hey crystal what dosage is aurora on and what meds is she taking my son takes carbamazepine tegratol and on 10 ml tablet form twice a day quite a high dose for a 6 yr old. he doesn't settle well in school cos he associates his seizures with school and he doesn't like being around people since his meds got put up a few months back he gradually goes to school for 2 hours a day I hope that she can get her focus im watching closely to see if cbd oil works or not so it may be the next step for me to take. thank you for being such an awesome family
I have had tonic clinic seizures since 4 years old; growing up my memory is completely screwed up so patients will be key as she gets into her older childhood and teen years.i love your family
Is alex still dating
Love you guys
Has she had the 2$ hour long EEG yet
I have been watching all of your videos about seizures lately. Our son has had 2 in less than a year that lasted 7-8 minutes. While they were both accompanied by illness, the neurologist is concerned about the length and whether it is caused by a seizure disorder. Your videos have been so helpful, we are ordering the Embrace 2 watch since his last seizure was before we got up for the day.
I’m so glad you found something that works for Aurora with the chewies and I hope the oil works can’t wait to hear more update 😊
Who’s Melinda
Hello Crystal what a wonderful mom you are ..i use cbd oil for people as a quick use for a quick ptsd helper and my dog use the pet form for epilesy my ive been using it for 5 months my dog Eli hasnt had a siezure in 5 months …for me it helps me focus on my family's needs …trauma is toughest thing to live with for me.. So cbd oil has its many uses ..i cant wait to hear the good stuff about it fot your baby girl aurora.. Side effect : focusing better and happiness may smile and giggle
Little aurora is so happy little girl
But don’t blame all her proublems on the meds bc it’s not all the meds
If she is off keppra take her off it
I have seizures and my meds aren’t working it’s like they work for a little then they stop
I noticed you mentioned that the 'stanger danger' issues coincide with her recent meds changes which I'm presuming were at a time where she saw more medical professionals.
Usually as kids we are introduced to people and spend some time with them before having to rely or trust them. For Aurora and other kids with health problems however, she's being taught to immediately trust strangers (the medical professionals) at her most vunerable states e.g. when she's been taken to hospital due to seizures.
Obviously that's the right thing to do as it's more important you help encourage her to relax and trust doctors and nurses quickly but that probably also contributes to her openess and trust of other strangers. It's become normal for her to allow strangers into her life quickly and intimately.
I'm time you'll probably be able to teach her more easily the boundaries between general strangers and 'medical' strangers but at her age I'd say it's completely understandable that she is generally more open. She's been through a lot and had to let lots of 'strange people' such as doctors, nurses and EMTs check her over.
Regardless she's a lovely kid and her experiences will probably mean she will go on to be an even more outgoing and social kid.
Prayers to you and your family
I didnt know that oxcarbazepine made you gain weight. Im on 900mg because i had eye twitches and my docs at stanford hospital told me to up my dose. Ive had to up my dose 2x since i started taking the medication in 2013-14 i was irritable too and got a breakthrough seizure when i was in high school it was scary. Because i was actively talking my meds and it was scary to have one considering what happened with me in 2013 and im glad i switched my meds when i did because the tegretol med (carbamazepine) was a med that was old
seriously try keto for seizures …….
The mood swings, weight gain, and all the other things you named comes with every medication for epilepsy from what my Dr told me, and I figured out that music in public helps relax my seizures and at home my games and You Tube help and if none of these help me then I turn to my rescue meds
I love how good the bigger kids are with Aurora they all have time for her which you sometimes don't see all your kids are a massive credit to you Crystal and Aaron much love from the UK xx love you and the crazy middles xx
In the intro there wast a Scarlett
Aurora is so cute😘😘
Praying that CBD helps her
I am so happy you are trying this I use it for my chronic pain disorder and it makes my life manageable i know it will work prayers going out
