NOTE FROM TED: Please do not look to this talk for medical advice. While cannabis and CBD are an emerging field of study, their associated health effects …

  1. No wonder Big Money bought off politicians for nearly a century to ensure that the herb remained/remains illegal. Brainwashing the public is fairly easy but not all believed the lies and propaganda.

  2. Weed did NOT work for me, yeah it was fun for a while but long term it only amplified insecurities, changed who I was on a daily basis for the worse and made me depressed. I’m not against it I’m just saying that everyone is different and you shouldn’t justify to yourself that you’ll feel better after smoking because maybe you won’t and thats okay I strongly prefer lsd, it has been extremely therapeutic for me, I never take high doses and limit my exposure to only a few times a year. For the love of god DONT take too much you can overstimulate your brain and burnout, like alcohol poisoning. Just start small and work up, as long as you’re in control and with friends you’ll feel more connected to them and become more holistic in your outlook which can certainly introduce more positivity into your life. Mushrooms yanked me out of depression overnight. Absolutely terrifying (darkest longest nights of my depression) and haven’t taken it since but it saved m life because I was suicidal. Lsd will change the way you see the world, mushrooms will change the way you see yourself.

  3. Mindfulness and legalization… Go figure why cannabis was outlawed. Keep the masses in the dark. Rules are put in place by the powerful to maintain power.

  4. To any that espouse the use medical, it serves no purpose to jump the gulf to recreational. Of all the medical prescriptions, tell me please, which is used legally recreationally?

  5. Weed just costs me a lot and sometimes i crave a bowl pack more than i should crave more important things. If you abuse reefer too much you stop noticing and appreciating the small things that mean the most. Just food for thought from a stoner who has quit several times

  6. Ive been smoking fr almost 10 years and from my personal experience there are pros and cons to marijuana:

I typically get anxiety whenever it comes to Sativa so I only smoke Indica (body-high) to release body aches and for better sleep. After the years whenever I smoke "too much" my aches will actually become greater, maybe those muscles are relaxed too much. Other than that, everything is fine. Lungs are perfect. Sometimes when I take a "big hit" I will get a sinus infection, but only when I abuse it for days. I stopped taking big hits as well and only smoke to enjoy it now. Ever since then, zero issues. So what I think is it only becomes a con when you abuse it. Just like everything else in life too much is never good.

  7. I'd have been dead from depression (suicide) long ago without it.. and blew my mind once I had strep throat bad enough I couldn't get out of bed but a little bit relieved my symptoms completely for a few hours. And all about that gateway drug bs is lol.. I spent a few years in my youth on the street and pretty much did everything… ganja was still the only thing I wanted after the smoke cleared

  8. What an excellent metaphor for describing the endocannabinoid system. A large majority of plants are toxic to humans, even the ones we derive medicines from. This makes cannabis a member of a rare minority of plants that have a minimal comparative toxicity. I can't wait until a comprehensive nutritional study of cannabis as a food is available….it's the least discussed possibility of cannabis uses.

I typically vaporize it to stimulate appetite and quell nausea due to gastroparesis.

You see, I'm missing my colon for 6 years now….I'd likely weigh 90 lbs without it's benefit, and at 6ft tall I think you get the picture.

I'm personally uninterested in anyone's negative view of my use of cannabis, but I typically don't discuss my health regimens to begin with.

Additionally, I prefer to grow my own. It provides a sense of accomplishment and self sufficiency that have their own spectrum of benefits, as well as confidence in how the plant was treated when grown. Cannabis is an "accumulator", much like tomatoes…if it's in the soil, it ends up in the plant. In my experience, cannabis grown organically produces more natural terpene profiles and a more nuanced entourage effect that is presented across particular genetic strains.

I'm not opposed to western medicine in the least, nor do I subscribe to homeopathic only approaches to healthcare, but it is a little dissatisfying that science and medicine seem incapable of recognizing that nature can occasionally render something that can be a medicine that doesn't benefit from being broken down into its constituent components and reorganized into a quantifiable substance that perhaps loses its level of efficacy to effect a system that is, itself, all about biological balance. A little ironic in a way if you think about it.

Cannabis isn't going to be a good choice to use for some, and it certainly isn't a medical panacea, but it certainly is a uniquely useful plant.

  9. To save you time, the first third of the talk is about the speaker's struggle to think positive thoughts about her health, then she turns onto medical cannabis at the suggestion of a nurse (5:46) and things go better.

  10. I’ve smoked cannabis for two years and in that time it allowed me to lose 75 lbs and build muscle mass, I’m no longer depressed like I was, I’m happier and I enjoy life more.

  11. I have smoked Cannabis for 10 years (I'm 28), and I am one of the healthiest persons I know… I haven't had a cold or been sick for over 3 years. I attribute my health to constant exercise, drinking lots of water, spending time in nature, taking care of my, and taking care of my relationships with others. I suspect I could add cannabis to that list.

  12. In Hinduism ganja plant is considered the king of all plants and Ayurveda which is an ancient Hindu medicine always uses it as a base. Unlike the west which uses alcohol as a base

  13. Surpreendentemente satisfeito com as explicações. Tudo é válido para a saúde, desde que seja usado com moderação e entendimento sólido.

  14. Pot is bad for your lungs. Smoking anything is going to give you cancer eventually and asthma/COPD. Plus it's extremely addictive. The only somewhat safe way is edibles. The truth is weed has not been studied enough to know if it's safe. Also any drug to the point of intoxication is morally bad. CBD is one non – intoxication method. Last thing weed raises heart rate to insane levels. Like 50% increase in some people.

  15. Should we rename the "War on drugs" the:-
    1 – "war on homeopathy"
2 – "War on cotton and papers competition"
    3 – "war on nature"
    Or
4 – "War on urban and suburban males"??

Does anyone else think we will find out similar things about poppy powder when big pharma owns it all and legalises its use.

  16. Dear Elise & friends
Have now heard yr useful lecture 3 times and taken notes. It shines light on relationships for me. A++
A suggestion that you may already have taken up is to use the balance concept of a table or platform as would distract less than the st**l – & more can all get round that table
    Appreciatively h

  17. I do not claim to KNOW computers. I freely admit that I am learning by reading and OBSERVING. I also know that WI-FI does not reach for miles through the air. I live in the country and closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away.

GOD I need your help in getting your word out you gave me; Please strike down the FEDERAL agent at router CenturyLink4347 in KALISPELL MONTANA that CYBER ATTACKS my COMPUTER / WI-FI.

I wrecked my Harley not wearing my helmet that stopped my ❤ 3 times, broke my pelvic bone in 5 places requiring a brace bolted, crushed my chest breaking all ribs many times puncturing both lungs, put me into an 87 day coma waking with a 5.5 brain injury requiring relearning life. Once returning home I tried having my doctor do an MRI of my brain to compare to my wreck. He refused telling me that BIG PHARMA will financially destroy any doctor that proves THC restores brain injuries.

This upset me so much that I taught myself MOLECULAR SCIENCE and went to the gold shop in KALISPELL MONTANA showing JB how copper transitioned into gold. This got me kicked out and he told 'city council' that I am making FOOLS GOLD from copper pass tests.

Boiling water proves that 'heat' excites MOLECULES allowing ATOMS to escape. This is how copper transitions into GOLD and nickel into PLATINUM.

Earth must be restored by growing HEMP world wide.

ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM proves THC grows cells.

Copper melts at 1800F. but must have the ATOMS boil at 3500F. for 100 hours covered in melted BORAX to stop oxygen preventing escape.

    TRANSITIONAL METALS; – Zinc = Mercury – Copper = Gold – Nickel = Platinum.

Only GOD can return me from 'death'

I ask this in JESUS name, amen.

  18. cannabis?, friendly police officer?!, i live in alabama, the police will beat you, kill you, lock you in prison, and steal all of your belongings for cannabis, crazy talk man

  19. Cannabis has not helped in anyway shape or form with my depression, nervousness, anxiety or ptsd. As a matter of fact when under the influence of medical marijuana (while either, smoked, vaped, edible) and various strains, it makes all my symptoms 100x worse. I've also got a very low tolerance, so even miniscule amounts trigger this feeling. The entire time I'm under the influence my faults, weaknesses, problems, are magnified. Makes me feel like I'm a terrible person, husband, father, or whatever I'm thinking about. The entire time I'm just wishing I was sober again. I wish it didn't cause I see all these people that it seems to do wonders for, however not me.

  20. Yes thank you for emphasizing this!
I always felt miserable and nauseated after dialysis prior to smoking.
    Now that i smoking again,
I am so much more productive,
My anxiety lessens by the day,
Even after dialysis, no longer feel drained.
I am even sleeping so much better.
I have so much patience in my hobbies too.
    Cannabis so soooo amazing.
    I love it

  21. The Brain has many mind/body systems. Think of placebo effect or, for researchers, initiation effect. Don't forget the research on belieff and how faith can affect wellness.

  22. Addiction prone people do not need gateway drugs to trigger their addiction because the tendency to addiction is basically innate. Anything to get a high is 'it' for the addict, whatever wherever it may be. Cannabis was targeted politically and economically for it's highly superior competitive edge over other pulp, petrol and pharmacetical products which is bad for capitalist and oligarchy interests.

  23. It’s not so much what you think about that brings about change, health or wealth, it’s what you feel about, was it not said that two must agree, psycho the mind, soma the body, those are what the Bible speaks of as being equally yoked.
